Daria Tsagaan

Oyundary Tsagaan, known as Daria, is the first Mongolian student at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. She was a well-known broadcast investigative journalist in Mongolia. Following her last piece, which revealed high-level government corruption in 2000, she was faced with many troubles and needed to flee her country as a result. Daria is now a political asylee here in the U.S. She won the Emmy Scholarship from the National Television Academy in 2007. She was also one of 12 fellows selected for the summer of 2007 by the Human Rights Center at UC Berkeley. Daria's specialties are multimedia journalism, video production and editing.
